Social Events
Inter-School Councils Reception
Will occur on 12 September and include exec members from other graduate and professional councils. We will need volunteers to help with this, please let Oat know if you want to help.
Q: Can we discuss organizing events for mentoring undergrads? A: (Madison) This may fit well with the Grad Days Fall events, which will focus on academics.
Joint Happy Hour with Batten
Planned for either 14 or 21 September. Will request $400 at the next meeting.
Halloween Party
We will need to approve funding for this in September

Social Chair
Trish has volunteered for this.
Ideas for the coming year
Reception for new graduate students
- Plan a welcome BBQ?
- Plan an event immediately following the September meeting?
- Trivia event to get people to meet?
- IM sports for graduate students? (beyond simply funding teams each semester)
Summer Events for graduate students (especially new grads).
Maternity Leave Policy
- Spring 2013 as a goal
Mentoring Events for Undergrads
- Grad Days Fall Event?
- Madison will send out information about GradDays at some point
Constitution and By-Law Changes
This will allow us to hold official meetings in the summer

New Meeting location
Newcomb Gallery reserved every Monday from 5:30-7:30 pm. Will use to hold general council meetings and space is also available for other council activities.
