Graduate Student Consulting and Beyond club at the University of Virginia invites everybody interested inScience and Technology Policy and related careers to attend this unique career panel. The panel will educate you on:

  • How and where science and technology policy decisions are made
  • What science and technology policy jobs look like
  • How society and government use technological knowledge
  • What to do today to start a successful science and technology policy career

 

What: Science and Technology Policy Career Panel

When: October 23rd 5:00pm

Where: The Great Hall Room at Garrett Hall. Locate the building as #17 on this U.Va. map or use Google Maps directions here. The Great Hall Room is right in front of you as you enter the building.

We put together a balanced group of distinguished panelists – from people who in the past were appointed directly by the president to recent graduates who just started their careers but are already rock stars. Bios and registration for the event here.

 

Additional S&T Policy Crash Course

If you don’t know anything about Science and Technology Policy, but are still interested, we recommend attending a “priming” 1.5 hour crash course on Science and Technology Policy presented by the president of GSCB Paul Vereshchetin on Monday 20th at 5:00pm at Room 120 Olsson Hall (building #38 on this U.Va. map or use Google Maps directions here). At the workshop, Paul will summarize what he learned during his time in Washington, D.C. at a 2-week workshop on Science and Technology Policy last June. This warm-up event will prepare you for the panel or you can skip it but be sure to attend the panel itself! Registration here.
